Hey guys it’s Ash. You wouldn’t know it now but growing up in Vancouver I was never much of a traveler. I took my first trip overseas at 22 and remember having a mini panic attack on the Stansted Express into London watching all those red brick houses fly by.
Now I’m one of the few Canadians living in Barcelona. It’s still weird saying that. Living in Barcelona.
I came to Europe a second time with the intention of getting a bar job in London, doing the working holiday thing, traveling around a bit, and going home after 8 months. That was eight years ago.
After three years in London and 15 months in Italy I’m now on year four in Barcelona.
I currently work as an English teacher and freelance translator and dedicate my free time to this blog.
About This Blog
This was originally intended to be a way of documenting my time here in Barcelona. Then I realized there are very few expat (immigrant!) run tip blogs for Barcelona – which is surprising because it’s one of the most visited cities in Europe if not the entire world.
My goal here is to put a human face on an informative travel guide. As cheesy as it sounds I want to make you feel like you’ve got a ‘friend’ in Barcelona.
That’s why I want to encourage all readers to ask questions in the comments section. I guarantee a response to any question no matter how stupid 😉
I hope these articles will motivate you guys to come and explore one of the world’s great cities.
Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
